Campaign Story
- Project Description – Youth Climate Action Initiative
The Youth Climate Action Initiative by Jesus Hour Organization aims to empower 200 girls and young people to become leaders in protecting their environment and building resilient communities. Climate change and environmental degradation are increasingly affecting schools, homes, and livelihoods in Nigeria. Flooding, heat waves, poor waste management, and deforestation directly threaten the health and education of children and communities.
This project addresses these challenges by integrating education, leadership, and hands-on environmental activities. Participants will engage in:
School-based climate clubs to learn about climate change and environmental protection
Tree planting and school gardens to promote greener, safer school environments
Waste management campaigns to reduce pollution and prevent flooding
Community awareness programs to educate families about climate risks and solutions
By involving girls and youth as climate ambassadors, the project not only strengthens their leadership skills but also ensures that environmental action becomes a shared community responsibility.
Expected Outcomes:
200 youth and girls trained in climate leadership
Increased awareness of climate change and sustainable practices among students and communities
Greener schools and cleaner communities
Enhanced resilience to flooding and environmental hazards
